A bar and restaurant by James Beard Award-winning chef Michelle Bernstein and Julio Cabrera is set to open in Miami’s Little Havana on Calle Ocho in December.
Café La Trova, a 5,000-square-foot eatery at 971 S.W. Eighth St., will offer Cuban dishes and cocktails. It will feature live music, an outdoor patio, and operate two bars with decades-themed cocktails.
“La Trova is all about passion, memories and love for all things Cuban. It will be a journey to the old and new and I’m so humbled to be part of the ride,” Bernstein said.
She and her husband and business partner David Martinez own and operate full-service catering company MBC Michelle Bernstein Catering and café concept Crumb on Parchment. She also authored Cuisine a Latina and hosts “Check Please South Florida” and “Soflo Taste.”
Bernstein also co-hosted the Food Network series “Melting Pot” and has been a judge on “Top Chef.”
